Shiloh - Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

Shiloh is a book I read when I was in 5th grade. I enjoyed this book so much when I was a kid. I would use this book to help students reflect on right and wrong. Also, I would use it to help practice critical thinking skills. I would use this book in 5th and 6th grade.

How Full Is Your Bucket? For Kids - Tom Rath, Maurie J. Manning, Mary Reckmeyer

I have not read this book yet, but I have read what it is about and the reviews on this book. I think this will be a great book to show kids that you determine how full your bucket is and you determine how your day would be. I would use this book with 1st-5th grade. I would use this by making paper or plastic buckets and then have students draw or write out things to put inside their bucket to demonstrate what they let effect them.

Amazing Grace - Mary Hoffman, Caroline Binch

Amazing Grace is a great book. This book will show students that they can be anything they want to be. I would read this book to my class and then have them draw or write what their dreams are to be when they grow up. I would use this book in 2nd- 5th grade.

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly - Simms Taback

This book is a very entertaining book for children. I believe they would love reading this book. I would also show the video of the book and use it for listening skills. I would give each student an animal in the story and every time they heard their animal name they would stand up and sit back down. I would use this book in 3rd-5th grade.

A Bad Case of Stripes - David Shannon

A Bad Case of Stripes is a great book to show students that they all are different. Also, it can be used to show the different moods of students. I would use this book in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom - Bill Martin Jr., John Archambault, Lois Ehlert

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a awesome book for kids. I would use this book in Kindergarten and 1st grade. I would use this book to introduce or enhance the alphabet with my students. The book is great to show the sequence of the alphabet.

The Berenstain Bears in the Dark - Stan Berenstain, Jan Berenstain

The Berenstain Bears is also a collection of books that I grew up reading. The Berenstain Bears In The Dark should be used for upper elementary grades such as 3rd-5th grade. I would use this book in a small group lesson and have students relate the book back to their life. They could talk about with each other the things that they are scared of and how sometimes it is just a figure of their imagination.

Green Eggs and Ham - Dr. Seuss

I love Dr. Seuss books and Green Eggs and Ham is one of my favorites. This book can be used with all grade levels in elementary school. I would of course read this book during Dr. Seuss week and/or Dr. Seuss birthday. We could read this book and also make green eggs and ham in the classroom.

Curious George Visits the Library - Margret Rey, H.A. Rey, Martha Weston

Curious George Visits the Library - Margret Rey,H.A. Rey,Martha Weston

I grew up reading Curious Georges book. Although I have not read this one I believe that I will use this book before the first time that my class visits the library. It will be a great way to introduce the library to the students and the rules of the library. The grade level I would use is Kindergarten-2nd grade.
